Favorite School Memory	Probably Spanish class with Miss McNutt who inspired me to continue my studies in Spanish (I eventually received a Bachelor's degree in Spanish at university); also went on to get a Master's in TESOL. About Me	Came to Japan to teach in a new woman's college in 1983; moved to Tokyo in 1985 for "just one or two more years," met a wonderful Japanese man from Sapporo, married 4 years later (1991), gave birth to a daughter, Natalie (1994), continued teaching English in language schools and universities. Now am Associate Professor but after 13 years at one university, stepped down and am currently looking for another teaching position. Still teach a teacher-training course on teaching English to children at the university. Also do the recorded English announcements for Matsuya Department store in Ginza. Our daughter, Natalie attends the American School in Japan located in western Tokyo (we live within a mile of the school). She's currently a h.s. sophomore and is on the JV volleyball team. Husband, Toshiya is an editor/journalist of the classical music magazine, "Mostly Classic." He is also a Noh actor, performing...(read more)
