keith barton
Class of 1981
keith is excellant self-taught(by ear)musician.He learned as a toddler,playing in church.he did play band in school-drums,tuba,etc. He got his professional start playing guitar for the popular st.louis gospel group"the lesters".He then played various groups in the country nightclub /honky-tonk circuit before joining "urban Cowboy"s Johnny Lee band playing in Branson,Mo. nightclubs.He then played in the st.louis area in the Pop-country band "The Well Hungarians". For the past 7 years,he's played steel guitar in Country Music giant Mark Wills band.Almost every weekend he plays on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville,TN. in Mark Wills band. When they are not playing there,they're either playing show-dates,concerts,fairs, and even flew to Iraq to entertain U.S. military troops. Keith is a left-handed musician,but can also play right-handed instruments. A steel guitar company in Nashville,is in the process of making him a special left-handed steel guitar.
When he is not touring,you can find Keith at his home the same one he grew up in at Glencoe,MO.(part of Wildwood).
