BETTY TUSSING
NORTON, VA – Betty Tussing, 79, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was a member of the Central Freewill Baptist Church in Norton and served as Sunday school teacher and clerk of the church for many years. She was raised in Clinchco, Virginia and graduated from Ervington High School. She was a daughter of the late Hursel and Polly Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald (Zeke) Mullins and Jimmy Ray Mullins.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Tussing of the home; two children, Rhonda Lijoi and her husband Bruno of Chattanooga, Tn. and Bo Tussing and his wife Amber of Norton, Va.; two grandchildren, Kellie Tussing and Natalie Lijoi; two sisters, Brenda Phillips and her husband Riley of Norton, Va. and Suzie Cradic and her husband Larry of Big Stone Gap, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until 12 pm Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, Va.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Central Freewill Baptist Church, PO Box 621, Norton, Va. 24273.
