| About Me | After graduation I went to PLU and got a degree in Psychology. I also played on the soccer team for two years and we were National Champions both years. After my sophomore year I had surgery on my shoulder and my body was worn out so after 14 years of playing soccer I decided to quit and focus on school. While I was at PLU I met Jaymes Toycen who is now my husband of 15 years. He grew up in California and then lived in Melbourne, Australia for Junior High and High School. He is the regional vice president of northwest operations for an audio visual company called presentation services. He oversees their operations in WA and OR. After college I got a job at the Sammamish YMCA and I have been working there for the past 15 years. Up until I had kids I was full time and ran our Child Care, Day Camp, Youth Sports and Adventure Guides program. I am now part time and just run the Adventure Guides program (it used to be called Indian Guides. It is a program for Dads and their kids to spend quality time together. They go on campouts and do other activities together) and help run our annual fundraising campaign. I have two beautiful girls. Emily just turned 8 in December and is in 2nd grade. She is very sweet and kind and is a great big sister. She is on a tumbling and trampoline team and competes in the Puget Sound area and will begin competing regionally and possibly nationally this year. Rachel is 2 1/2 and pretty much makes us laugh every day. She has lots of energy and is becoming very independent. She is working very hard at trying to keep up with her big sister. After living in Tacoma, Issaquah and Maple Valley we now live in Covington. We bought a new home here four years ago. Besides working at the YMCA and taking care of my kids I am also very involved at my church, Cornerstone United Methodist. I volunteer in our kids church and run our VBS in the summer. I am still a sports junkie only I do a lot more watching than playing now. I have season tickets to the Mariners and Seahawks and I got hooked on fantasy baseball and football this year. I have done the Danskin Triathlon the past four years. I enjoy camping with my family. We just bought a tent trailer and can't wait to get out and use it. We sponsor three kids through World Vision. A boy and a girl in Zambia and a girl in Sri Lanka. Jaymes and I went to Africa this past fall and were able to meet our kids in Zambia. It was an amazing trip.
