About Charles “Ricky” Foster, age 54, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, March 28, 2025, on the day of his birthday.

He was born in Buncombe County on March 28, 1971, to the late Charles Edward Foster and the late Nancy Anderson Foster. Ricky lived life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his community.

A proud graduate of Haywood Community College, Ricky built a career that reflected both his strong work ethic and his commitment to public service. He served as the Assistant Director of Public Works for the Town of Waynesville, where he was known for his leadership and camaraderie with colleagues. Over the years, he also worked with the City of Asheville, PSNC, and John Deere. In addition to these roles, Ricky owned and operated his own business – an endeavor that showcased his entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Ricky’s love for people extended beyond the workplace. Known as a jokester with a quick wit and infectious laugh, he brought joy to those around him. His work family held a special place in his heart; he valued their friendship deeply and took pride in being part of a team that made a difference in the community.

Outside of work, Ricky found great joy in coaching football – a passion that allowed him to mentor young athletes and share in their growth both on and off the field. He also cherished time spent catfishing with his son, creating memories that will be treasured forever. A lover of history, Ricky enjoyed learning about the past and sharing stories that connected generations.

May Charles “Ricky” Foster’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his warmth and humor.

Left to cherish Ricky’s memory are his devoted wife of 25 years, Amanda Foster; his daughter, Myleigh Foster (Elijah Farmer); and his son, Charlie Foster. His legacy lives on through his children and through all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Pinnacle Church located at 415 Fibreville Street, Canton, NC 28716. Pastor Caleb Kelly and Pastor Mike Leslie will be officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville, NC.
