About Me	OMG! I'm 61! I've become my mother! I'm beginning my 32nd year teaching English and AP Lit courses at Junction City High School in Junction City, Kansas. Prior to that I taught 4 years of Language Arts in the Houston area and was happy to leave Texas. We live in Manhattan, KS and are big K State, Oklahoma State and Mizzou fans. Decorating and gardening are passions. We will celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary this summer. Our daughter Jamie lives with her husband near Dallas and our daughter Ellyn just graduated with an art degree from UMKC. Our daughter Katie died when she was 22. I keep in daily touch with Deb Wilenzick and visited my stepmother, Maxine Austin, in Enid. We go back to Stillwater to sit at Eskimo Joe's and we go to OKC to the Renaissance and Bricktown sometimes. I asked a friend last year if he actually keeps a prayer list. He does. Now there is one on my desk at school filled with the names of loved ones who are suffering with cancer, have family illnesses, and are asking for thoughts and prayers. I used to say "you are in my thoughts and prayers" without really giving the time those prayers deserved. Now I try to follow up on my words.
