About COGGIN John E. Skip Coggin, II, 65, passed away November 30, 2011. A native of Corpus Christie, TX. Skip lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan until 1958 when the family relocated to Jacksonville. Skip is pre-deceased by his wife Pat Dandridge-Owens Coggin and parents John and Eddy Coggin. He is survived by his children, Sherry Coggin Hammack (Shawn); Robin Rossi (Anthony); Deanna Rohn (Buddy); Bill Owens (Angel); David Owens (Mary); sister, Ellen Coggin-Coggin (Ron). He leaves 14 cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild. Retired from retail sales and service, Skip was forever an Englewood Ram and FSU supporter. After becoming a Navy corpsman, he proudly attached to the Marines as a FMF Grunt corpsman, serving at Camp LeJeune, Great Lakes Naval Hospital and Guantanamo Bay. Respectfully called Doc he established the Fleet Marine Force Grunt Corpsmen Assoc. promoting the brotherhood between Navy Hospital Corpsmen and the Marines. He was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Shrine, Loyal Order of the Moose and American Legion. Memorial Services will be held with military honors Friday, December 9th, at Englewood Christian Church at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Community Hospice Foundation at 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
