| About | Donald Hubert Eddins (1948-2012) Donald “Don” Hubert Eddins, 64, passed away on August 19, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL where he was born in 1948 to his parents, Leon Glenn Eddins, Sr. and “Connie” (Boatwright) Eddins. He graduated from Englewood High School, Jacksonville, FL in 1966. He lived in the Orlando area (Groveland and Kissimmee) for over 30 years. He retired from the Int'l Union of Operating Engineers #673 of 40 years with majority on Disney related projects. His brothers, Eddie Eddins, Dan Lee Eddins, Sr. and Dwight Eddins, his children Donalyn Kent, Douglas Eddins, Jonas Eddins, and Robert Eddins, survived him. His parents, Leon Glenn Eddins, Sr. (1908-1979) and “Connie” (Boatwright) Eddins (1920-1994), buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL, and his brother, Leon Glenn Eddins, Jr. (1932-1971), buried in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL, predeceased him. Paternal grandparents: Harry Kirby Eddins (1881-1948) and Effie Lena (Weathers) Eddins (1883-1932), buried in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, Wake County, NC. Maternal grandparents: John Mitchell Boatwright, (1878-1929) and Lucinda S. (Carter) Boatwright (1882-1927), buried in the Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery, Alma, Bacon County, GA. “Don” was an avid University of Florida Gator fan. He loved to golf, hunt, and enjoyed watching all sports. Honoring his wishes, a private memorial service was held on September 8th, 2012 for family and friends to celebrate his life. Per his request, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity in Groveland, FL. Eternity Funeral Homes, Jacksonville (904) 348-5579 and Nassau (904) 261-2700, assisted the family with arrangements.
