David Albert Appleby passed away into his heavenly home on June 29, 2015 of natural causes. David was born on December 2, 1946 to Ellsworth and Mary Virginia Murray Appleton in Jacksonville, Fl. David attended Hogan Spring Glen Elementary and Englewood High School, class of 1965. After high school David joined the U.S. Marine Corps (Paris Island), and was then called to serve in the Viet Nam War. He was very proud to be a Marine and serve his country.

David started out in several different jobs but later was a loyal and proud employee of American transmission for almost 30 years. David grew up in the 50's and 60's and had many fun times and memories of this era. It was here he made longtime friends. He was a loving and caring child and brother and loved all his family. He had 35 first cousins whom he cherished. His parents, Ellsworth (Ellis) Albert Appeby and Mary (Murray) Appleby and his brother-in-law, Dr. Robert F. Uible, DDS, predeceased him. His sister, Mrs. Robert F. (Linda Appleby) Uible, nephew, Charles Michael “Chase” Barry II, and his wife, Linda Barry, their son, Ethan Barry, and an aunt, Marguerite(W.A.) Williamson, survived him.

David was a member and baptized in the St. Nicholas Park Christian Church. A visitation will be held at the St Nicholas Park Christian Church, 3226 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207 on Friday June 3, 2015 from 10:00 AM 10:30 AM with a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to and Marine Corps, Vietnam Veterans organization. or the Wounded Warriors Project.
