About	Charles "Tom" Council IV, 49, of Keystone Heights, died at his home in Keystone Heights, Clay County, Friday, September 3, 1993. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Charles Thomas Council, III, and Jane Council. He played football and ran track for the Englewood High School Rams in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Englewood High School, class of 1962. His father served as the first principal from 1957-1961, until he received a promotion to an administrative position in the Duval County Schools. His family moved to Palm Beach County, FL in 1966, where his father served as principal of Seacoast High School in Delray Beach, FL. “Tommy” graduated from University of Florida, Gainesville, Alachua County, FL, in 1966. He moved to Keystone Heights, Clay County, FL, in 1980 from Boca Raton. He was employed as a guidance counselor and was a former head of social studies department at Palatka High School. He was a Methodist. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Claire Council, parents, Charles “Charlie” Thomas Council, III and Jane Council, four daughters, Cathi Council of Boca Raton, Shelley (Council) Barger and Rhonda (Council) Casella, both of Pompano Beach, and Lori (Council) Fairweather of Chantilly, VA, sister, Suzanne Council of Palmetto, and four grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 8, 1993, at DeWitt C. Jones Funeral Home in Keystone Heights with Mark Myrick officiating. Burial in High Springs Cemetery in High Springs, Alachua County, FL. His original obituary was published September 6, 1993 in the Palatka Daily News, Palatka, Putnam County, FL.
