David Mcneil Obituary

Class of 1975, Engadine Consolidated Schools, with sadness, we lost another friend.

On Thursday, November 12, 2020, David McNeil, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 63, after a long battle with cancer. David was born on July 3, 1957 in Manistique, Michigan to John and Rachel (Burton) McNeil.

He was a graduate of Engadine High School in 1975 and upon graduation he served in the United States Army.

On November 10, 1979, he married the love of his life Ann Popour. Together they raised three boys, Jason, Brandon, and Samuel. They lived in Manistique, Michigan for most of his life where he developed a love for sports and coaching.

He worked as a truck driver, carpenter and coach throughout his life. In 2013 he retired to the Phoenix metro area where he continued to coach and donate his time to help youths in the community.

He is survived by his wife Ann; sons, Jason (Katharine) McNeil, Brandon (Natalie) McNeil, and Samuel McNeil. Granddaughters Olivia, Kylie and Brynlee; Father John; Siblings Josie (Guy), Evie (John), Charley (Robert), Edward; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel; and sisters Bonnie and Velvet.

Due to complications from the current pandemic a memorial will be held at a date to be determined.

The Class of 1975 has loss eight classmates since our graduation. Four were within the first two years.
Along with two high school teachers. Mr. James Brownson and Mr. Frank Kuhnel.

May they continue to Rest with angels.
