1957-2022

Born Dec 07, 1957, Charles “chip” Simpson attended Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, ME.

Our Beloved Chip ~ a man of profound gentleness ~ kindness ~ unconditional Love and a glint of impishness ~ died of unexpected complications after kidney transplant surgery ~ no one saw it coming until it was too late.

Despite that horror for the family ~ Chip was surrounded by Family Music Poetry Scripture and Unfathomable Love
The service was held at Asbury Theater at Camp Mechuwana in Winthrop Maine to an overflowing group of mourners all eager to linger for hours offering their homage from Family ~ to the workplace of BIW Engineering ~to Church family ~ and friends. Because Mechuwana is so Blessed none would have been surprised if Chip emerged from Behind the curtain or just rise from behind his piano as if he were about to help a camper through a solo ~ a solo of Chip’s creation
for Chip’s Greatest Joy ~ beyond his family ~ was the year’s preparation of a musical of his own composition to be performed by 20 to 40 campers in 1 week of rehearsals. As Beautiful as his Gift remains ~ for Chip ~ the quality of the overall camping experience was always the goal as such performance never mattered but rather each Camper’s Joy ~ Delight ~ willingness to embrace & blossom into a role and being willing to step up to a challenge ~ these were Chip’s evidence of a job well done. They were able to do all of that because Chip possessed the unique abilities to foster trust & courage while buoying with Love and Confidence. He retired after 21 years and the first campers were present with their children still singing his songs

Every life that crossed his path was quietly yet profoundly affected by his mere presence and his Unconditional Love. Folks shared Love and Delight of and for Chip through his” last musical “ ~ a 2 hour service of story telling ~ Laughter and Deep and Abiding Love for Him ~

Over a year later the Family continues to reel . Grief is a constant companion for those left behind ~ wife of now 45 years ~ 2 sons ~ 2 Daughters ~In ~ Heart ~ and 2 grandchildren

Despite the unspeakable anguish The Family continues to ride the endless Wave of Miracles bestowed Moment to Moment

They Love Laugh and Grieve in full measure ~ simultaneously and every moment of every day. Evidently Shattered Hearts take wing
