About Me Recent inductee into"The Blues Hall of Fame"Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter Richie Blue's blistering guitar playing and heart and soul vocals have taken him to his current status as one of the top drawing acts on the club and festival circuit all over California, the northwestern states, Canada, and Mexico. His brand of music although rooted in the blues, is a blend of rock-a-billy, country swing, New Orleans swamp, and soul. Born and raised in Washington State, Richie won his first talent show contest in 1969 and went on to play in succesful 1970s northwest bands such as The Nashband and Greasewood before moving to San Francisco in 1980. His stint with The Fabulous Beaumont Brothers featuring Amos Garett brought attention to Richie's Twangin Blues and slide playing. Soon he was gigging the San Jose, San Francisco and Sacremento club and festival circuit with just about everyone in sight — some big names, others not so big — but always adding his tasteful, graceful, unpredictable and amazing guitar playing! Richie began performing with his own band in 1994 and has released three CDs on the San Francisco Farmboy label. His original song "Rooster" has been performed by the band Zero, Norton Buffalo, Stu Blank, The Sonoma Swampdogs and other Bay Area blues bands! With production help from Norton Buffalo , Richie recorded and shopped his song "Run Through The Night" with favorable notices! Wherever Richie performs, the place is jumpin' and he has lived up to his buisness card slogan "No Bar Too Far". Richie has been a guest guitarist on 30+ albums and CDs! The following is a list of a few notable artists Richie has performed, toured and or recorded with: Amos Garrett, Steve Warner, Doug Kershaw, Roy Clark, Little Anthony, The Drifters, Fabian, Elvin Bishop, Norton Buffalo, Steve Miller, B.B. King, Little Milton, Johnny Copeland, Buddy Miles, Terry Hanck, Johhny V, Tommy Tu Tone, Bobby Voltage and Doyle Bramhall 2.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4813305416343&set=a.47118...(read more)
