My Military Occupation was Hawk Fire Control Repairman. In short, I made sure our missiles could intercept boggies. I served during the early to mid 1980s. My tour of duty found me in Wurzburg, West Germany. Yes, I was there before the wall came down.
During my time in Germany there was much terrorist activity by the Germany Red Army faction. The Red Army was responsible for multiple bombings and deaths of military and civilians.
I had the honor of spend 2 weeks on the isle of Crete for a NATO mission. The tour was great until the PanAm plane was Hi-jacked and the Navy Seal was killed by terrorists. We were put on alert and made the mission tense.
Received an honorable discharge in 1985 and I currently support the military by being a member of the American Foreign Legion.
