Norman Donald Johnson, a lifelong resident of Sacramento, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer at the age of 91. He was the son of Bessie and Algot Johnson of Sacramento and was born on March 14, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Schauer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Patricia K. Johnson, and his four children: David Johnson (Janet); Connie Ketter (Richard); Kristy Johnson; and Karl Johnson (Bonnie.) He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and extended family and friends. Norman attended Florin West Grammar School and Elk Grove High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and aboard the USS Rockford in World War II and was a member of the VFW Post 1267. He served as a traffic officer in the California Highway Patrol from 1951 to 1980.
