About	Samuel Thomas Hughes was born in Eureka Springs Arkansas on December 7, 1951. After a lengthy illness, he died in Sacramento, California on October 28, 2017. At the age of two years his family moved to Reno, Nevada where he started school at Sierra Vista Elementary. The family moved to Sacramento California in 1960 and he graduated from Elk Grove High in June 1969. Sam worked at many jobs including a Bee route, auto upholstery, home construction, a bird farm specializing in ostriches and as a warehouse worker at a moving and storage facility. For fun he enjoyed watching ball games on TV, especially the Forty-Niners. He rode Harley-Davidsons, liked pizza and cherry pie. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Jacqueline, son Samuel James, grandsons Samuel Thomas and Michael James, a step-son, Robert Price and his parents Billy Thomas and Ruth N. Hughes, his sisters, Diana Bachman, Elaine Wilson and Mary Gudeman, a nephew, three nieces and his beloved dog, Dude. A celebration of life will be held in the Florin United Methodist Church at 7560 Florin Road Sacramento California at 1:00 PM on Tuesday November 7, 2017. - Information from the Sacramento bee
