Bob passed away at his home in Monett, Missouri only a three days after his ex-wife Karla Johnson ('64) passed.
Born on February 20, 1944 in Sacramento, California, he was the son of Walter Jason Hoyt, Jr. and Marian Naomi Blair Hoyt. Bob graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1961. He served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints following high school, to the Southern States Mission in Atlanta, Georgia. He later graduated from Sacramento State University with s degree in Social Work.
On April 19,1968, Bob married Karla Johnson ('64) in Oakland, California. Bob was a life long faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by siblings Blair Hoyt ('60), Ric Hoyt ('64), Seth Hoyt ('67), Steve Hoyt ('70), Jeff Hoyt ('73) and Jana Hoyt. He was preceded in death by three children, Joanna Elizabeth Hoyt (1), Robert Brye Hoyt (12), and Julie Alissa Hoyt (12), as well as his parents and one brother, Walter Jason Hoyt III and one sister Marian Ann Hoyt.
A family service was held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Monett. A graveside service followed on the next Saturday, September 30 at 9:00 am at the Kings Prairie Cemetery in Monett. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Camp Barnabas in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care an direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Missouri. - Information from brother Seth Hoyt who was sent this obituary from his niece in Missouri.
