About	Larry Hajime Marubashi, 66, of Sacramento passed away on August, 12, 2017, at home with his wife, Sue Eland, by his side. He was born on January 2, 1951 in Sacramento to George and Grace Imahara Marubashi--his father, George, preceded him in death. Larry was a resident of Curtis Park for 40 years. Larry attended schools in the Elk Grove and Florin area and attended the Japanese Methodist Church on Franklin Blvd. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the army and served in Viet Nam and at Fort Lewis. When his service was complete he began his civil service career as a clerk at the DMV and 25 years later he would retire from the Legislative Data Center as a Software Specialist. Larry was many things, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, a "creative" handyman who loved tinkering around the house, heck of a softball player and an avid golfer. He got much pleasure from sitting around with friends and shooting the breeze following a golf round or with his band of softball brothers - The Sacramento Ballsnarts and the Sacramento Buds. Let it be known that Larry lived a simple life filled with family and friends, work and play, sickness and health, sports and leisure and all the ups and downs we humans experience. He lived it with grace and without complaint. When diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in November 2016, true to his nature, he began to take care of all the end of life details. He attempted chemotherapy but when it showed no signs of effectiveness, he took on his remaining months with wit, copious note taking, time with family and friends, a small trip or two and even a sense of humor. Surviving besides his wife Sue and his mother Grace are his two children, born from his marriage to the former MaryAnn Kashiwagi, now deceased, his son Neil Marubashi and granddaughter Zea, his daughter Laura Marubashi Cartmill, Casey and their children, Donny and Kyoko-- stepsons Jason Eland (Annette, Quinn & Nora) and Mathew Eland (Jen, Tyler & Colin), a sister, Linda and Kai Bustos all of Sacramento and a brother, Les Marubashi of Oklahoma. There will be no service at Larry's request, "no fussing about." Interment will be in the National Cemetery in Dixon on Friday, Sept. 8th at 10:30.
