About	Julie lost her brave 15 month baffle to acute myeloid leukemia on 1-17-17 at the family's home in Wilton. She was the daughter of Bubber and MaryAlice Waddell. Loving mother to Colt and Cody and stepmother to Mercedes. Sister to Arthur and wife Kenna, and to Brett and wife Regina. Caring aunt to Kristie Merola and husband Brandon, and to Brandon, Courtney, Chris, and Tyler Waddell. She was a great aunt to Aubrey Merola. She was the granddaughter of Marion and ElBoneta Lasell and Lamar and Janice Waddell. Survived by a loving family of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was an active member in Sheldon 4-H Horse Project and then the FFA program at Elk Grove High School graduating in 1982. She received her AA degree at Cosumnes River College and a BS degree in Agriculture Business and Equine Management at CSU-Chico. She obtained her teaching credential from CSU-Fresno in 2006. She had a strong work ethic and while an equine instructor she garnered numerous friendships from her students. She developed the Equestrian Exhibition, the Cavalcade of Horses, at the California State Fair. In 1990 she traveled to New South Wales to work with the Australian Olympic Jumping Team. She continued her professional equine experience for many years. In 1993 she married Rich Lockwood in Elk Grove where they established residence. They later moved to Wilton and in 2002 their son, Colt was born and Cody arrived in 2006. The beautiful smile she always had along with her loving and caring heart will always be with us. Her Celebration of Life will be held February 4 at 11:30 at the Masonic Lodge at 9829 Waterman Road, Elk Grove, CA.
