On September 26,2016, I lost my brother and best friend to a massive heart attack here in Elk Grove. John McAlister graduated from Elk Grove Senior High School, class of 1973. He was a member of the band, attended CSUS majoring in Psychology and worked for the post office for 33 years. John was an avid horseman, competing in "A"circuit and Grand Prix show jumping. He is survived by his wife Aubrey, brothers Richard, Dan, Ron ('75), and our sister Mary ('71). - Information from Ron McAlister ('75), brother
