About	Michael "Mike" Gene McCune, 67, of Shingle Springs, California, passed away, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his home. Mike was born October 17, 1948 in Sacramento, California to Donald and Jenny (Wood) McCune. He was a "Florin boy" who graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1966 and attended Consumes College where he received his AA. He spent 4 years in the Air Force serving in Vietnam in '67,'68 and '69. Mike retired from the State of California (CHP, Park & Recreations, EDD) after 33 years. He will be remembered for his kind heart, humor, loyalty and for his love of fishing and hunting. For the last 15 years, he enjoyed watching hunting shows, and spending time with his grand-children. Mike is survived by his wife, Brandy McCune, his two daughters, Crystal Jackson, and Shelly McCune; his four grandchildren, Gabby, Max, Gabriel and Elijah, his brother Donald Jr of Carson City, NV, and his nephew Marty McCune. A celebration of life will be held at noon, Thursday, August 4 at the Elks Lodge #1712 at 3821 Quest Court, Shingle Springs, CA 95682. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
