About	Raymond Steve De La Paz, 48, passed away peacefully at home in Pollock Pines on July 3, 2016. He was born in Sacramento, CA on May 11, 1968 to Raymond and Ophelia De La Paz. In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters Katie Gilks, Cynthia (Michael) Pierce and brother, Anthony. He will be missed by his loving nephews and niece, Anthony and Isaiah De La Paz, Alex and Brandyn Gilks and Adam, Noah and Sara Pierce, his companion, Lisa Mills, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents and infant brother, Raymond. Steve, a former resident of Elk Grove who attended Elk Grove schools was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping surrounded by his many friends. Steve was a former wrestler, Elk Grove High School FFA alumnus (Class of 1987), rodeo fan and FFA volunteer who loved his rock t-shirts and baseball caps. At the time of his passing, he worked for the U.S. Forestry Department combining his love of the outdoors into a career. All services will be on Monday, July 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Cemetery and Funeral Center, 6509 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, CA 95820 A viewing is scheduled for 10:00AM, with the Rosary following. Catholic Mass to be celebrated in the chapel at 12:30PM, with a reception for family and friends to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
