About	David Austin Pickens, a former resident of Elk Grove died May 10, 2016 at his home in Elkhart, Indiana at the age of 59. David was born Feb. 17, 1957 in Sacramento to Shirley and Russ Pickens and grew up in Elk Grove. On July 25, 2015 he married Patricia A. (Slovinski) Wright in Las Vegas. He was employed for several years as a masonry supplies salesman for Pavestone and Castlelite Block, both in California, before retiring in 2008. In his younger years he was a professional Motocross Racer and enjoyed restoring his 1936 Buick. He was a member of the Michiana Viper Club and loved to build computers and play video games. Dave is survived by his wife Patty; son Austin A. Pickens (fiancée Katie Lucas) of Quinlan, Texas; mother Shirley Knight of Elk Grove; stepmother Doris Pickens of Sacramento; and grandchildren Landon Lucas, Ryan Pickens and Hudson Pickens all of Texas. He was the brother of Mark Pickens (Judy) of Elk Grove and Jim Pickens (Anita) of San Diego. Also surviving are three stepsons, Rob, Zach and Nick Wright. Services took place May 14 in Indiana.
