About He was born, February 4,1938 in Mogador, Ohio and passed away, on January 29, 2016. His residence was Sacramento since 1952. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 53 years, and sons Steven DiMaggio (Peggy Wickersham), and Michael Wencke (Tammy); grandchildren: Jessalyn DiMaggio-Barr (James), Dominic DiMaggio (Kate), Dana DiMaggio (Gilbert Flores), and Amanda Wencke; great-grandchildren: Serena DiMaggio, Joseph and Thomas Barr, Lily, Hailey and Elijah Flores. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents: Antonio and Mary Wencke, his brothers John, Tony, Dominic, Fred and Jacob also sisters Anna and Rose. Attended school in Elk Grove, CA and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1957. Served in the U.S. Air Force (1957-1959), and went to work at the U.S. Postal Service (1964-1992), where he started as a clerk and retired as Division Manager, Statistical Programs. After his retirement he enjoyed working part-time at ARCO Arena as an usher (1994-2006), Cal-Expo as a ticket taker and gate supervisor (1995-2006), and also Hertz Rentals (2000-2006). After 2006 his health prevented him from continuing to do the things he enjoyed. Hank was always active in the community and what ever he set his mind to do he achieved. He was a dedicated Little League Volunteer (1964-1994) as Coach, Manager and President of Curtis Park Little League, served as Assistant District Administrator for Sacramento District Seven Little League, and also Sacramento District Seven Big League Administrator. He served as President for C.K. McClatchy High School Baseball Boosters (1974-89). Hank was awarded the Metro League Gold Pass (1976), PTA Honor Society (1977), U.S. Postal Service, Sacramento Region Community Service Award (1986), and U.S. Postal Service, National Community Service Award (1988), Sacramento Little League Man of the Year (1977), Big League Man of the Year (1986), and Sacramento Baseball Bushers, Area Youth Baseball Man of the Year (1994), also served as the Treasurer for the Homeowners Association for 25 years. The family sends special thanks to Mercy Hospice for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice . Rosary/Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
