About Cecilia "Corky" (Plescia) DeVine was born on March 12, 1930 in Burbank, California to parents Andrew and Sarah Plescia, immigrants from Sicily. Enjoying farming in southern California for the first 13 years of her life, she moved with her family to Sacramento in 1943 continuing to farm. Cecilia lived the next 72 years in the greater Sacramento and Bay area. She graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1948 where she met the love of her life, James L. DeVine, whom she married in 1950. In 1952, gave birth to her only child, James L. DeVine, Jr, who married Laurie Anne (Markus) in 1977. Thoroughly enjoying a 30+ year career with Bank of America; developing life-long working relationships and friendships. Her most joyous memories were being with her large extended family and many close friends. "Aunt Cel" known to so many, was a great cook, an impeccable housekeeper, a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother and loyal friend. Preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, sister-in-law Ann Plescia, and best friend Phyllis Turner. Survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael "Notch" Plescia and wife Patricia and George Plescia and wife Patricia, and her many nieces and nephews including Sarah Plescia, Andy Plescia and wife Joan, Sarah (Plescia) Boras and husband Gerry, George Plescia and wife Melissa, many nieces and nephews including Lisa Plescia, Bryan Plescia and partner Steven Jablonski, Marisa Boras, Tessa Plescia, Shondee Kinne and children Keira and Kai, Carl Kinne and his son Max; a childhood and loyal friend in Betty Woolever, companion Roland Litz, as well as numerous cousins in the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Los Angeles Area and Southern California. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 26 at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819.
