January 2, 1930 - July 17, 2015 Eugene Albert Roenspie passed away on July 17, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife Joann Roenspie and his family: daughters Sieglinde McTigue (John), Loretta Roenspie-Capurro, Lisa Roenspie, sons Joe Roenspie (Janette), Jeff Roenspie (Lilia) and stepdaughter, Dawn Simmons (Dave). He is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Gene was born on January 2, 1930 in Elk Grove, California. He played junior league and AAA baseball for the Sacramento Solons and the San Bernardino Pioneers. Gene served his country in Korea from 1951 to 1953, and had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry for 40 years. In retirement, he enjoyed wood-working and fishing. Heartfelt thanks to Maggie, Nancy and Christian of Gentiva Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
