About	Published: Wednesday, July 8, 2015 12:11 PM PDT Dwight Elmer Ables, a longtime resident of Elk Grove died June 25, 2015 at the age of 54. He was born June 8, 1961 in Elk Grove to Elaine and Elmer Ables and grew up here, graduating from Elk Grove High School. While in high school he was an all-star athlete, including playing on the football team. Dwight's career was in the HVAC industry where he spent 33 years, owning Superior Heating and Air during the 1990s. His family said he enjoyed life fully through hunting with his buddies, fishing, fixing a “mean barbecue” and spending time with the family. They added, “He was a very giving, kind-hearted man who would give anything to help his friends and family. God was a big part of his daily routine, especially within the last few years of his life. May he finally live a peaceful life.” Mr. Ables was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his daughters, Lindy and Karly Ables; grandchildren Gunner Romney and Theo Bartholomew; sister Maxine Ables Munger; brother Richard Ables; and former wife Kim Ables Kostyrko. A celebration of Dwight's life will take place at The Falls Event Center, 8280 Elk Grove Blvd., Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m. A fund has been set up to help with expenses in his memory.
