About	(Sept. 24, 1930 - May 11, 2015) Ken was born and passed away In Sacramento. He was the first born of Harold and Edith Ouchida. He is survived by wife Shizuko; daughters Pamela (Mark Nakagawa) and Valerie; and grandchildren Erin Wong and Nicholas Nakagawa. Ken was greatly saddened by the loss of his loving daughter, Kristie Refines, in 1996. Ken Is also survived by sister Lucille (Jim) Yokota; and brothers Earl, Lester (Caroline), Wayne (Dorothy); sister-in-law Donna (wife) of predeceased brother Harold (Sonny) Ouchida, Jr.; brother-in-law Steve (Frances) Suto of Pleasant Hill; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. As a teenager, Ken was interned at the Jerome and Gila relocation camps during World War II. Upon return to Florin, he went to Elk Grove High School where he played football and basketball. His education at Sacramento Jr. College was Interrupted by the Korean War, and he volunteered for 4 years of service with the US Air Force. Then, he attended UC Berkeley and UCSF Medical Center where he received his pharmacy doctorate. He worked as a pharmacist for Kaiser, owned his own store (Ken's Pharmacy) for many years until he retired, and then worked part-time for Costco. Ken loved sports and enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, as well as being an avid fan for the 49ers, Giants, and especially the Cal Bears. Ken was able to see much of the world traveling to Hawaii, Japan, Europe, New York, and Washington D.C. Ken had a full, eventful, Joyful 84 years of life. He will be greatly missed! A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacramento Japanese United Methodist Church at 6929 Franklin Boulevard In Sacramento. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
