Graduation Year Class of 1948
Date of Passing Jan 05, 2015
About ISHERWOOD, Annabelle Marie, born March 13, 1930 to Bertha and Hugh Mooney and passed from this world on January 5, 2015. She grew up in Elk Grove, on the family dairy ranch. Early in life, she opted for household chores rather than working in the dairy. Displaying no love of the dairy, she began to delve into the joys of cooking, consistently delighting her family with her culinary abilities. Annabelle graduated from Elk Grove High School and attended Sacramento State where she met the love of her life, William G. Isherwood. They were married on June 29, 1952 and prior to his death, celebrated sixty years together. Annabelle used her degree to become a teacher and taught both in the parochial and public school systems. Her tales of the antics of her students delighted our family. Annabelle and Bill were blessed with and survived by their eight children and spouses: daughters, Mary Nierman (Bill); Jeanne Sanchez (Dave); Deborah Bizzell (Kenneth); Margaret Wilkins (Brian) and Anne Davies (James); sons James Isherwood (Lora); Mark Isherwood (Tracy) and Paul Isherwood (Cori). Annabelle is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three impending blessings. Annabelle was preceded in death by her brother Calvin and sister Mary and her granddaughter Sarah, but is survived by her brother Chris and sister Bertha. Mom was a gourmet cook who as we grew up, fed our large family with multiple versions of Annabelle's surprise casserole number ... Mom's strong Catholic faith helped her deal with the challenges of raising eight children. She loved to entertain and embraced any opportunity to celebrate her love of family. Mom has been imprisoned within the disease of Alzheimer's for the past ten years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated. The Rosary will be held at Lind Brothers Mortuary, Carmichael, on Friday at 6:00 P.M. Services will be held Saturday January 10th, at 1:00 P.M., at Our Lady of the Presentation Church; burial immediately following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Following burial, please join us for a celebration of mom's life at Presentation Parish Hall.
