Cory Nicholas Watson of Elk Grove died unexpectedly Dec. 11, 2014 at the age of 27.
He was born on July 5, 1987 in Ukiah to Gary and Mickey Watson and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 2005. He had recently completed a course of study at Heald College to begin a career as a pharmacy technician.
Cory loved outside activities and was an avid paintball warrior. He also enjoyed remote control cars, playing his guitar, and lately had returned to riding his trick bike.
His family said that his greatest joy came from his daughter, Angelena Lee Ann Watson who was born to Cory and Ashley Brown on May 2, 2009. “His time with her brought him peace and renewed his spirit,” they said. “Cory was a free spirit whose life passed too quickly.”
Besides his parents and daughter, Cory is survived by his siblings, Christopher Watson (Carrie) of Sacramento, Christy Righetti (Joel) of Sebastopol, and Carolyn Cernuda (Brandon) of Huntington Beach; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 9539 Racquet Court, Elk Grove. Interment will be at a later date.
