William "Bill" Singleton, former Father of the Year and devoted member of "Daddy's Here" support group at the Center for Father and Families died on Thursday, February 20, 2014. William was born in Thomasville, AL in 1941 but lived in Sacramento most of his life. He was a member of the All-California track team when he attended Elk Grove High school, later served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged from Fort Ord in 1961. Bill was a free spirit and was loved by neighbors and a multitude of friends. He leaves behind his mother Johnnie Mosley; siblings Leroy Singleton (Faye), Eursable "Bud" Mosley, and Kendra Mosley; children Michelle Esco, Annette Jackson (Newton), Tecora White, Dana Chenevert, and Davis Singleton; and grandchildren Keonna Kelly, Adrianne Carter, Taylor Chenevert, and Taylor Chenevert. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 12noon, The Pagoda Building, 429 J Street.
