About	Patricia Ann Welch of Elk Grove, a bus driver for the Elk Grove Unified School District died Nov. 25 at the age of 65. Mrs. Welch was born March 19, 1948 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Robert and Esther Williams, and moved to Elk Grove in 1959. She graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1966 and worked for the school district for 23 years as a bus driver, driving the special needs students of Jessie Baker School. Known as Patsy to her friends and Aunt Pat to her extended family, they said she was involved in her church and “always had an open door for any young soul in need of a helping hand and heart.” Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Richard, on Oct. 16, 2013. She is survived by her sons Jeremy Welch and Derek Williams both of Elk Grove; grandchildren Austin and Reagan Welch and Jaylen and Isabella Williams; and sister Betty Gibson. A viewing took place Thursday evening at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary. Interment is today (Friday) at 1 p.m. at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park, 9189 East Stockton Blvd. - Information from the Elk Grove Citizen
