Fern was born Oct. 24th, 1949 and passed away on her 64th birthday after a long battle with dementia. She is survived by her husband, Bob Opp; stepsons, Jason Opp and Jared Opp; granddaughters, Trinity, Christen and Annalise 0pp; and sisters, Dixie Ellisen, Pril Wagner; brothers, Jack Wallace, Nate Wallace and Chris Wallace. Fern was born in Reno, Nevada and was raised in Yerington, Nevada before going to college at American River J. C. and the getting her B.A. in Education at Sacramento State College. Fern taught in the Elk Grove Unified for 33 years at Elk Grove H.S. and Sheldon H.S. During her tenure she was the Women's Athletic Director, coached Volleyball and was the Activities Director. Fern has a tremendous legacy with all the students that she touched. She will be forever loved and missed by everyone that knew her.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sat. Dec. 7th at 11 A.M. at the Performing Arts Center at Sheldon H.S., 8333 Kingsbridge Dr, Sacramento, CA. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
