About	Her day of passing was in March 2013 Ellie passed away peacefully after a battle with COPD compounded by pneumonia. She was surrounded by her family in a circle of love at her passing. The heavens opened with thunder and lightening, signaling that Ellie was home to party with the angels...over martinis, of course. She graduated from Elk Grove High in 1940. In her younger days she was a downhill skier, member of the Tamarack Ski Club, played tennis, and golf. She worked for the State of CA and then San Juan USD. She is described as having guts, determination and true grit. Ellie loved going to the Music Circus, listening to the Sacramento Kings on the radio, watching NASCAR, bull riding and Tiger Woods. She was a very colorful patch in the quilt of life. She was a beloved mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt. She is survived by her daughter Jodi Heleen. Ellie spent her last months in the company of her daughter, kitty Xoe and devoted caretaker, Linda Todd. A memorial will be on April 21 from 11-2 with a blessing at noon.
