Vernon was born December 26, 1939, in Sacramento, CA to Ralph and Edna (Thoenges) Nix. Vernon was predeceased by his parents, wife Carol Nix, and brothers Robert Nix of Wilton and Melvin Nix of Whitefish, MT. Vernon's survivors are his sister Lucy and her husband Nash D'Angelo, twelve nieces and nephews and many extended family members. Visitation will be Thursday, January 24th from Noon - 5 PM at the Herberger's Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25th 10:00 AM also at the Elk Grove Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Elk Grove Cemetery. Pastor Clint Jeffcott, Wilton Bible Church, will officiate.
