About	Billie Ellen (Elliston) Blue was born on November 2, 1943 in Sacramento, California. She was a Native Californian in the truest way, being of both Miwok and Maidu Indian decent. She passed away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 5:30 pm in Elk Grove after suffering a Massive Brain Hemorrhage. She left a deep footprint in the sands of time by vivaciously and generously helping all of those around her and enthusiastically devoting endless hours to protecting and preserving California Indian culture and artifacts. Billie was also active in educating young California Indians about 'the Indian Way', she was involved with numerous cultural preservation groups throughout the State and performed monitoring and repatriation services for many tribes throughout California. She was a dedicated, dependable employee and worked for the State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation for 34 years. She loved boating and camping and was an all around country girl at heart. Most of all, she loved to be surrounded in the warmth and fellowship of her many friends and family. Billie was preceded in death by her parents Gladys and William Blue and was a devoted mother to her son Rocky, a beloved sister to her recently deceased brother Michael, and will be deeply missed by all of her surviving family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013 at Hicksville Cemetery (East off Highway 99 on Arno Road) in Galt, California. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
