About	Year of graduation unknown (47?) Donald W. Wells of Courtland, CA born November 15, 1929 in Booneville, Arkansas, passed away on November 16th, 2012 surrounded by his loving family who never left his side. Fly high Grandpa and thanks for the memories! Don was preceded in death by his parents Fineus and Grace Wells, brothers Armma Dail, Hoyle, Lendon, and Bill Wells. He is survived by his sister, Sue Jacobson of Elk Grove. Beloved husband of 56 years to Shirley, father to Sherry Thixton of Lincoln, and Tim Wells of Elk Grove. He had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, in addition to many other loving family members. Don came to Franklin, CA by train from Booneville, Arkansas in the mid-1930's and lived there until he married Shirley in 1956. He attended Franklin Grammar School and Elk Grove High. He proudly served his country in the United States Army by serving in the Korean War; he was a recipient of a Purple Heart and was one of only 13 soldiers out of 227 in his troop that returned home. Don helped build the Kings Skating Rink in Franklin, worked for Stillwater Orchards in Hood, The Borden Co., and later for the River Delta Unified School District. There will be a graveside service held at the Franklin Cemetery, to be determined at a later date.
