Larry Joe Givens was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 13, 1946. He passed away at his home in Fresno on June 9, 2012 at the age of 66.
Larry is survived by his wife Evelyn M. Givens of Fresno; son Michael Givens of Bakersfield; daughters Laura Givens of San Francisco, Lisa Grilione and son in law, Dennis Grilione of Clovis; grandchildren
Zachary and Ryan Givens, Alexis and Nico Grilione; and grand-doggy, Zoey.
Larry was a graduate of Fresno State University, in addition, he served in the military from 1966 - 1969 as an active member of the Seabees naval unit. After he got out of the Navy, he became a construction engineer and held various positions in Fresno, Bakersfield, the Bay Area, and Mendota.
He was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching most sporting events.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at the Westlake Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 2706 W. Ashlan Avenue, Fresno, California on Sunday, July 1 from 1:00pm - 3:30pm. - Thank you Lenda (Ross '64) Snyder for the information
