About	Longtime Elk Grove resident Evelyn Boone passed away on June 20th from complications associated with the elderly. Evelyn was 91 years old and lived a full and eventful life enriched by her many friends. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Lempit Boone, who passed away in February of 2003. Evelyn was an energetic soul who enjoyed keeping busy, traveling, and visiting with her friends. Evelyn worked for the Elk Grove Unified School District as a secretary for years, a job that brought her only positive memories. In her later life, the Elk Grove Senior Center, a variety of local coffee shops, her yard, family, pets, and friends filled her life. Evelyn is survived by two sons: her oldest son, Chris Boone (and wife Donna) live in Bishop California where Chris retired as a Fish and Game Hatchery Manager after a long career with Fish and Game. Her youngest son, Ernie Boone (EGHS '67) (and wife Susan) are longtime Sacramento residents, Ernie is a retired High School Principal. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Evelyn, if she could, would certainly like to express her gratitude for the rewards of the many friendships she had and maintained over the years. Evelyn was also an avid dog lover and raised English Bull Dogs for several years, certainly she would have appreciated any one who would like to do a good deed in remembrance of her life, what she would appreciate most would be the making of a donation to your local SPCA. - Information from the Sacramento Bee
