Age 73, was born and raised in the Florin and Elk Grove area. He retired after working as a carpenter for 37 years and enjoyed working with wood. He hand-crafted log furniture and unique wooden bowls and loved nothing better than to make them for family and friends. On May 5, 2012, Chuck died of bladder cancer in Wyoming, where he resided with his wife of 50 years, Diana. He also leaves behind a daughter, Michelle Brunkhorst, her husband Paul, and sons Dean Manica and Chase Brunkhorst; and a son, Mike Carruth, his wife Kristin, and son, Chaz. Papa loved all of his grandboys, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 6 half-brothers and sisters in Pennsylvania. A private gathering for family and friends will take place August 18th at 1 p.m. at the Portuguese Hall on Taylor Rd. in Newcastle, CA.
