About	Alonzo M. Helms Jr., a resident of Wilton in the 1950s died Feb. 6, 2012 at the age of 76. Mr. Helms was born Aug. 28, 1935 in West Mineral, Kan. to Alonzo M. Helms Sr. and Oma J. Helms. He attended Elk Grove High School, then joined the U.S. Navy in 1954, serving in the Korean War. His hobbies included salmon fishing and league bowling. Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his five siblings: John, Clarence and Harvey Helms and Esther Hinck and Oma Wilson; and his first wife Retha. He is survived by his wife Carol Helms of Rancho Cordova; children Gayle R. Helms-Hirahara and husband Burt, and Marla L. Helms-Rose and husband Ron; five grandsons, one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Services took place Feb. 10 at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary.
