About	EGHS year of graduation unknown (1935-36?) Bob, a long time resident of Elk Grove and Wilton areas, died at the age 83. He was born on march 6, 1928 in Elk Grove, California and lived here until age 11 when the family moved to a farm in Wilton. he entered the U.S.Army in 1946 and served 18 months with the occupation forces in Tokyo, japan. He then worked at various farming and ranching jobs for the next several years until, in 1967, he took over the Nix Pump Business when his uncle, Jim Nix retired. He continued the pump business and farming until his death, which he enjoyed along with his hobby of traveling in his motor home with his wife, Edna. He and Edna Rose Carver were married in 1948. Community and family members said Mr. Nix will be remembered for his friendliness, honesty, and strong work ethic. Bob is survived by his wife, Edna; sons Allen, Jerry, Lester, Ralph, Edward, and David; daughters-in-law; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was brother of Melvin, Vernon, and Lucille, and also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Services took place on Tuesday, August 2 at the Wilton Bible Church, 9697 Dillard Road, Wilton, California 95693.
