About	EGHS year fo graduation unknown (1968?) Mike, 61, was part of a family who lived in Elk Grove for many years. He was born on February 4, 1950 in Modesto, California to Vern Schroeder Ollar and Winnie Ollar, the youngest of five children. The family moved to the Elk Grove area in 1952 and he grew up here, attending Elk Grove schools. At the age of 19 he joined the U.S.Army and was stationed in Vietnam, receiving several medals for his service there. During his military career he married Vikki, however, the couple divorced. Mike was honorably discharged in 1971, and traveled extensively before returninmg to settle in Elk Grove. He worked as a water truck driver/owner for construcion sites until becoming disabled. He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Jack Ollar. He is survived by his daughter, Shauntelle Larsh; grandchildren, Aaron Michael and Arielle; and companion, Sharon Stone. He was the brother of Faye Haynes (Ray), Marilyn Koster (Jerry) and Susan Jewett (John) all of Elk Grove. Internment was August 4, 2011 at 2:00pm in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetary, Dixon, California. - Information from The Elk Grove Citizen.
