About	Class of 2012 Ryan was a life long resident of Elk Grove and died in an auto accident at the young age of 16. He was born on September 30, 1994 and was to have been a senior at Elk Grove High School in the 2011-2012 school year. He played freshman baseball and men's varsity golf during his sophomore and junior years. Ryan was active at the Sun Grove Community Church wher he participated in the youth groups and volunteered in community service projects. His family said that the project that touched him the most was the Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge program. "Ryan was passionate about everything he did and had a smile like sunshine. He was strong in the Lord and a good friend to everyone who knew him," they said. He is survived by his mother Jeannine Philibert Sparks and stepfather Alan Sparks of Elk Grove; father Craig Richard Boyd of Sacramento; sister Allyson Boyd; stepbrother and sister Trevor Sparks and Michele Sparks; grandparents Kathy Burgess of Fort Collins, Colorado and Rex and Jeannie Sparks of Galt, California; uncle sgt. John E. Philibert stationed in Vilsek, Germany; uncle and aunt Randy and Robin Sparks of Herald, California; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins in Las Vegas and Hawaii.
