About	EGHS graduation year unknown (42?) Ted, a long time former resident of Elk Grove, died following a long battle with cancer at the age 84. He was born on September 21, 1924 in Roseville, and came to Elk Grove in 1932, graduating from Elk Grove Elementary and Elk Grove High Schools. He met his wife while serving in the U.S.Army in Tehran, Iran where they were married in 1945. After returning to the States, they eventually moved back to Elk Grove where they raised their two children, both of whom also graduated from Elk Grove High School. Mr. Daly worked for PG&E, retiring after 40 years in March 1987. The couple then moved to Truckee and later began spending winters in Mesa, Arizona. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, and was a Past Master of Elk Grove Lodge No. 173, and secretary of Truckee Lodge No. 200 from 1986 to 1999. He was a member of Elk Grove Chapter 109 Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, an affiliate of Sacramento Scottish Rite Bodies, Mesa York Rite Bodies, and Phoneix El Zaribah Shrine. His family said he filled his life with activity, building houses, hunting, fishing, playing golf, and square dancing. The couple also did a lot of traveling. Mr. Daly is survivied by his wife Sonia of Elk Grove; son Chris Daley and wife Dee Dee of Truckee; daughter Linda Haas and husband Mike of Elk Grove; grandchildren Lisa Haas Stephenson of Newport Beach, Cyndy Haas Balk of Redondo Beach, Casey Haas of Folsom, Jason Haas of Sacramento, and Britt Daley of Reno; and six great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Barbara Eckerman of Yuba City, brother-in-law of June Dwyer of Elk Grove, and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service and celebration of Ted's life was held on Saturday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Elk Grove Masonic Lodge, 9829 Waterman Road in Elk Grove. Rememberances may be made to the Shriners Hospital, Northern California Unit, 2425 Stockton Blvd. Sacramento, California 95815.
