About Kevin lost his courageous battle with cancer in Atlanta, Georgia surrounded by his family.
He was born December 2, 1949 in Sacramento, California. He graduated and was Student Body President at Elk Grove High School, Class of 1967. He then graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He was a third generation Californian who moved to Georgia at the height of his career. He was the CEO of Fountainhead Water, Co. and the COO of Monarch Beverage Company, both in Atlanta, GA. He was a consultant to the beverage industry. In earlier years, he worked for Canadian Pacific Railroad, Christian Brothers Winery, Charles Krug Winery, and Crystal Geyser Water Company all in Northern California.
Kevin is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 39 years, Julie Arbour McClanahan. He is also survived by his three children and their spouses, Kevin Patrick McClanahan, Jr. and Nicole Reann Eckerman McClanahan, of Petaluma, CA., Flynn Patrick McClanahan and Megan Nicole Mikulak of Roswell, GA., and Molly Bryant McClanahan Welch and Curtis Andrew Welch of Sandy Springs, GA. He is survived by five grandchildren, Ian Michael McClanahan, Madeline Grace McClanahan, Flynn Gregg McClanahan, Avery Bryant Welch and William Tyler Welch. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Flynn McClanahan and three sisters, Janice McClanahan Saner, Trudy McClanahan Cooney, and Shelly McClanahan Wardlaw all of Northern California and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Shelly McClanahan.
Kevin was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing with his grand kids, who affectionately called him "Mac." He loved traveling with his family and took them on many road trips in the family vans covering 44 states.
