About	Alan, born on January 3, 1953 to Paul and Dorothy Martin, was a life long resident of Elk Grove who graduated from EGHS in 1971. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Martin but is survived by his sister, Paulette Woodward of Elk Grove; nephews Paul Woodward (Kathi) of Fresno, Pat Woodward of Elk Grove, Mike Woodward (Denise) of Kingsburg; niece, Dodi Woodward (Dana Voight) of Kailua, Hawaii; numerous relatives in the Elk Grove/Wilton area, Colorado, and Georgia; his extended family of dear and life long friends in the Elk Grove area. A gifted mechanic by trade, Alan was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips with his Dad, relatives, and special friends. He was artistically gifted having played the saxophone as a young man, and as an adult enjoyed painting and photographing the outdoors which he loved so much. Some of Alan's most prized possessions in life were his numerous Honda motorcycles and his African Grey, Boza. Alan appreciated good music, especially the band Chicago, and was an avid study of all things scientific. He will be remembered with love by all who knew him for his dry sense of humor and love of practical jokes. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to family and friends who have given of themselves during this difficult time. A graveside service and celebration of Alan's life was held in the Spring on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Elk Grove Cemetery at 1:30pm with a reception immediately following.
