About	The daughter of the long time and well loved Elk Grove Batey family, Chrissy Sarantakis (59), died from her battle with lung cancer. Chrissy was born on February 16, 1951 in Sacramento and grew up in Elk Grove where she attended Elk Grove Elementary School and graduated from Elk Grove High School, the same schools her father, Robert Batey, and grandmother, Edna Batey, attended. She received her bachelor's degree from Mills College in Oakland, and on April 8, 1975 married Christo Sarantakis. The couple owned "The Ranch Restaurant" in Hayward. Her family said she was a lover of literature, and she worked as the librarian at Creekside Middle School. She leaves behind her husband, Christo: her daughter Katina and husband George: and her son Bobby all of Castro Valley; her parents Robert and Olga Batey; and siblings Stephanie and Robert Batey all of Elk Grove. A rosary was held September 1 at 7:00pm and funeral service on Septmber 2 at 10:00am all at the Greek Orthodox Church, Church of the Resurrection, 20104 Center Street, Castro Valley. - Information from the Elk Grove Citizen, September 3, 2010 and family friend, Deborah (Zimbelman) Hirsch.
