About	Alan, 52, passed away suddenly in Roseville, California. He was an eternal optimist who had great love for his family. He was born in Seattle, Washington on June 2, 1953. After graduating from Elk Grove High School, he received his BA in Biological Sciences from California State University Sacramento Class of 1975. Alan then attended Medical School at UC Davis graduating with the Class of 1979. Following Medical School he did his residency and fellowship at the VA Medical Center, Martinez, UC Davis affiliate. Having been in practice in the Carmichael/Fair Oaks area since 1985, he had a fulfilling life in Medicine, particularly in Cardiology. Alan's love for sports was surpassed only by his love for his family. His favorite pastime was watching each of his children play sports, play at recitals and perform. Alan was at every even, even if it meant canceling work for the day. he was preceded in death by his father, Remy Cabrera. he is survived by his mother, Rosa Cabrera; loving wife of 25 years of marriage, Debbie; sons Trevor and Andrew; daughter, Karly; older sister, Anita; niece, LeeAnn; aunts, uncles, cousins, and loyal Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rocky. We will always remember how he found the positive in everything. Loyal to his friends and family, he always put others first. Alan will be remembered by his friends for his easy laugh, sideline coaching/cheering and love for life. A Rosary Vigil was held on Sunday at Holy Family Church at 7817 Old Auburn Road, Citrus Heights with the funeral the following day. - Information from the Sacramento Bee and the Elk Grove Citizen.
