About	A service was held on May 21 to celebrate Jeremy's life after battling chronic kidney failure since the edge of nine. He was born November 8, 1989 and graduated from Elk Grove High School in 2008. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and also enjoyed working with the elderly at the Elk Grove Convalescent Hospital. His family said, "Through all the adversities in his life he was known to always have a smile and sense of humor. He had a special connection with the residents at the convalescent hospital." Jeremy is survived by his parents, Stan and Penny Shewmaker of Elk Grove; siblings Jennifer Dangott and husband Brian and their daughter Brooklyn of Redwood Ciy, Matt Shewmaker of Galt, Nick Shewmaker and wife Rachael and their sons Dominick and Simon of Sacramento, and Alex, Rose, and Ashton Shewmaker of Elk Grove.
